Cranbrook, British Columbia: I find myself frequently wishing my life away. On Monday, I wish it was Friday. In Winter, I wish it was Summer. And almost every day, I wish I was on vacation. I have to remind myself on a regular basis that I will eventually wish I hadn’t wished so much time away, but when you yearn to be doing something else it is so much easier said than done. My passions are pretty much polar opposite from how I make my living, and while I’m grateful for what that career has given me, I anticipate the day when I can see it in the rearview mirror. Isn’t that how it is though, for most of us? The challenge is how to pull myself back into the now and savor that just as much as what I long for down the line. I’m still trying to figure out how to do just that. So today I wish for you, and me, the gift of enjoying the moment that you may have wished away. And that it will make the journey to where you are going so much the better.
